Assault and Fail to Quit Charges – Sydney CBD (NSW)

Police have arrested and charged a man over an alleged assault at Martin Place in Sydney last weekend.

About 1:30am on Saturday 23 November 2013, police were called to Martin Place following reports of two men fighting. A 22-year-old Summer Hill man was found unconscious at the scene and treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics. He was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for treatment of a fractured eye socket. Detectives from Sydney City Local Area Command conducted investigations into the matter.

About 1pm today (Friday 29 November 2013), a 24-year-old man attended Newcastle Police Station where he was arrested and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and fail to quit licensed premises. He was granted conditional bail to appear in the Downing Centre Local Court on Monday 6 January 2014.
