Peter Mercouris

Founder & Principal

From receiving a NSW Police Citation for work on the Ivan Milat backpacker investigation through to a Commissioner’s Citation for his contribution to combating a major South Western Sydney crime gang, Peter is recognised as a tactical, strategic, instructional and operational specialist.

Following his law enforcement career, Peter identified an opportunity to offer world class security and investigations to the Australian market. Australian Investigation Security Management (AISM) was born after extensive travel and meticulous research into relevant industry legislations and compliances as well as best international practices in the industry.

After personally running early assignments including security for international acts for the likes of Pink and Kings of Leon, and a stint consulting and training the UAE Government in areas such as defensive tactics, weaponless control, criminal Investigation, active shooter response and riot control, Peter has grown AISM to a national industry leader with a team approaching 100 staff.

Peter’s experience includes managing significant investigations ranging from theft and complex frauds through to homicides. The Rotary Club acknowledged Peter with a citation for his work as a Team Leader in the Middle East Organised Crime Squad in relation to the investigation of a major South Western Sydney crime gang that was responsible for murders, shootings and major drug distribution. Peter was also an operational safety, tactics and weapons Instructor for the NSW Police.

What makes Peter exceptional to the Investigation and Security Industry is his passion for AISM success, and his hands on approach. Peter has been personally acknowledged as a Local Business Awards for outstanding Businessmen of the year, the Western Sydney Awards for Business Excellence (WSABE), and Australian Business Awards for Entrepreneur of the Year, whilst the company has received continued recognition for Excellence in Business Services since 2010. 

General Manager Operations

An experienced business manager and administrator, our General Manager of Operations has been with AISM for 8 years and is responsible for personnel, payroll, rosters, financial management, client liaison, client files, confidentiality and maintaining office registers. They hold a Diploma of Business, 1ACE, 2BC Security Licence, Responsible Service of Alcohol Permit and First Aid Certificate.

Accounts Manager

AISM’s Account Manager has over a decade of experience in finance, accounts payable and receivable, bookkeeping and payroll for both small and large companies, as well as experience in the field of licensing and gaming, venue operations and event management. Their experience includes supervising security arrangements and property maintenance, observing liquor laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with work, health and safety regulations and maintaining customer relations.

Compliance Manager

With several years of experience in security, investigation, surveillance and legal support at AISM, our Compliance Manager oversees all legal and operational elements of the business. Building on a career as a practice manager of a legal firm, they have experience in management, banking and retail development, and currently hold a 1ACE Security Licence, Responsible Service of Alcohol Permit & First Aid Certificate, as well as a Commercial & Private Inquiry Agents Licence.

Roster Clerk

An experienced and accomplished performer, AISM’s Roster Clerk has spent over 30 years in the security industry. Commencing employment with AISM in 2010, they have progressed through the ranks, starting as a security guard, before moving to team leader and site coordinator roles. The Roster Clerk manages all the weekly rosters for AISM to ensure everything runs smoothly, as well as managing our regular events. They hold a 1ACE Security Licence and Responsible Service of Alcohol.

Site Coordinators

With in-depth experience in security, events and project management, our Site Coordinators take full responsibility for managing a specific geographic area, and bring expertise in managing large scale venues and event management for big crowds. With hands-on industry backgrounds, proven team leadership skills and all the relevant licenses and accreditations, our Site Coordinators are your trusted partner and go-to point for managing your venue and event security.
